Buy organic whenever possible. Current federal regulations state that organic food may not be genetically engineered (i.e. modified with the genes of pigs, flounders, or other animals and fish), so buy organic when possible. If organic simply isnt available where you live, you may not be able to modify the molecular structure of the fruit or vegetable you buy, but you CAN get rid of any pesticide residue. How? Wash your veggies or fruits again and again with undiluted apple cider vinegar. Must be undiluted. Must be apple cider vinegar.
Do not ever cook with aluminum pots/pans or use aluminum anything. Check the labels on your mouthwash, underarm deodorant, cake mix, muffinsanything that you eat or that touches your skin. If it contains aluminum, get rid of it. Dont even consider using aluminum pots and pans. Since 1885 aluminum has been known to be toxic to nerve tissues. Its a poison that can be either ingested, absorbed through the skin, or inhaled. Recent studies have linked it to Alzheimers. Read your labels before you buy!
How to combine foods for ease of digestion:
These combinations are friendly:
Vegetables: with grain, pasta, tofu, beans.
Fruit: alone when raw; when cooked, with grains or nuts
Melon: always with nothing else; watermelon with no other melon; just watermelon.
These combinations are gas-forming
Fruit: with beans, vegetables, dairy products or meat
Grain: with dairy products or meat
Melons: with anything else.
Eat raw greens before a meal; the enzymes they contain aid digestion.
Nutritionally, nuts, bananas, and avocados are excellent meat substitutes
Drink water or other fluids 30 minutes before or after a meal, not during; fluids hamper digestion.
Avoid using cornstarch unless powdering a babys bottom, as it inhibits digestion. Use arrowroot powder as a thickener instead.
Tahini and Sesame Butter are both creamy butters made from sesame seeds. Sesame seeds are not only tasty and nutritious, but enhance the function of the immune system. Tahini and Sesame Butter, however, differ dramatically in their chemical composition. Sesame butter is made from sesame seeds that still have their hulls on; these hulls contain high levels of oxalic acid; oxalic acid is what kidney stones are made of. Tahini, on the other hand, although it looks like sesame butter, is made from sesame seeds that have been hulled.
